ROOTIZEN · LEGAL
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Rootizen (“the app”) and this website, which are operated by Miguel Ernesto Cisnero de la Cruz (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the app or website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (or any custom EULA we provide), and in the event of a conflict regarding the app’s license, that agreement controls.
2. Educational purpose; no affiliation
Rootizen provides study tools to help users review material for the U.S. naturalization civics test. The app is an educational aid only. It is not legal or immigration advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship, and does not guarantee a test result or any immigration outcome. Rootizen is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any other government agency. Test content, requirements, and procedures may change; you are responsible for confirming current requirements with official USCIS materials at uscis.gov.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial study. You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, redistribute, or resell the app’s content or any part of the service;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except as permitted by law;
- interfere with or disrupt the app, our backend services, or the third-party services we rely on, including by automated or excessive requests;
- circumvent purchase or access restrictions, or misuse the purchase or refund systems; or
- use the app in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.
4. Content and accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to keep questions, answers, and representative information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that they are complete or error-free. Some answers change over time or depend on location and office-holder (for example, current officials), and official requirements may change without notice. Representative and official-holder information is provided for convenience and may come from third-party sources. Always verify current information with official government sources. If you find an error, please report it through the Support page.
5. In-app purchases
Rootizen is free to download with limited daily access. Rootizen Plus is an optional, one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the additional features described in the app and on its purchase screen at the time of purchase (currently unlimited daily games, reading and writing practice, listening audio, and category accuracy breakdowns). The price is displayed in the App Store in your local currency before purchase. Payments are processed by Apple, and your purchase is tied to your Apple ID. You can restore a previous purchase from the app on any device signed in to the same Apple ID. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases directly. We may change the features included in free and paid tiers going forward, but we will not remove features you have already purchased without reasonable cause.
6. Intellectual property
The app, website, name, logo, design, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal study. Official U.S. government test material is public information; third-party names, data, and materials remain the property of their respective owners. Rootizen and its logo may not be used without our written permission.
7. Availability and disclaimers
The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and some features (such as representative lookup) depend on an internet connection and third-party services. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app or website, including any reliance on its content for a test, application, or immigration decision. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it; sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
